A Christmas gift

After an almost two weeks-break, a new post is here for the interested readers. It's my first time writing a short story but I wanted to share it with you. Your feedback is essential whether you want me or not to continue writing short stories. So, this is my very first novel, someone could say. Enjoy!

It was about nine o'clock when Harry knocked the door.-I'm coming, Juliet said. She was wearing a nice dress for this special occasion as it was Christmas and she wanted to impress her fiance. Harry entered the small but quite modern apartment. He could listen to the radio where Frank Sinatra was giving the best of him;

-You better watch out, you better no cry, you better not pout, I'm telling you why! Santa Claus is coming to town!

-Merry Christmas! You look gorgeous!

-Thanks! Merry Christmas to you too!

They kissed and then took a seat on the sofa. After this, it was time for the couple to drink a glass of wine that Harry had brought with him. Everything was in perfection in the small apartment in Buxton. The Christmas tree was decorated with beautiful angels and colourful garlands. Nothing could ruin their first Christmas eve since they got engaged.

However, Harry had other plans. He had noticed that Juliet's attitude had changed during the last week. So, he had decided to find what's going on, because Juliet was denying that somethng's changed. Nevertheless Harry found out that his fiancé was cheating on him! He wanted to get revenge for this! Even on Christmas day! She loved her and she treated him like he meant nothing for her!

This was his time. When Juliet went to the kitchen, Harry followed her with the excuse of helping her. Then he took a sharp knife from the drawer and stubbed her 5 times! Juliet screamed but no one was there to help her!

Harry, pleased for what he had done, called the police to inform them about the murder. Α sardonic smile was formed in his face. When the police officers arrived, they arrested Harry who had already confessed his guilt.

Despite all that, Frank Sinatra was still playing on the radio.

-Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Hope you enjoed the story! Don't forget to tell your opinion in the comments! Until the next time, take care!

  1. To be honest, I'm quite speechless as I didn't expect that end. What a plot twist that was!!

    P. S. The Frank Sinatra at the end really set the mood!
